Student Council Mission Statement
The mission of the
north Avondale Montessori Student Council is to promote
educational experiences in student government that provide
leadership development, embrace diversity, service learning,
with a personal commitment towards achieving a harmonious
community.
Students who participate
and serve as homeroom representatives for our student
council will be very involved this school year. As a student
council member, your child was either elected by student
peers or by teacher selection due to leadership. Council
members serve in a position of responsibility involving the
following tasks:
Attend monthly
meetings after school or special call sessions.
Report collect news,
communicate events/reports to classroom peers.
Maintain a classroom
suggestion box, organize and discuss inquiries.
Become
knowledgeable of the implementation of the Robert's Rules of
Order.
Student Council
Activities:
Host and serve as
school ambassador during school tours
Grandparents Day- Design
welcome posters and contact tours
Serve as MC during
the Oratory Festival
Community Donations-
Thanksgiving and Holiday Drives
Support School wide
enrichments and events Promote monthly school spirit projects and
dress up days/
Support Community
Outreach projects with positive promotions.
Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, The
National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, The Public Library,
Emerging Leaders: Reach for the Stars Program
Address concerns of the
student body, strategize resolutions and mediations with effective
leadership.
Meeting
Schedule
Monthly meetings will
be the first Thursday of each month from 1:45- 3:00 p.m. in
Room 205
